"Drive" nous renvoie à la fin des années 80 début des années 90, en pleine période Madchester. Ce tube électro-pop nous replonge dans les albums qui ont beaucoup comptés dont "Technique" de New Order et les belles harmonies de The Beloved. Un beau mariage. (romu.rocks)

122 North fait ouvertement allégeance au "Technique" de New Order, référence affirmée et assumée. En propulsant Drive dans les enceintes, on se rêve à l’Haçienda. L’hédonisme de Manchester bat sur cette ritournelle électro-pop, piquée par un break en son milieu qui fait l’effet d’un plancher qui s’ouvre sous nos pieds pour nous laisser tomber indéfiniment dans un océan de ouate rosée. Remember how Bill Murray woke up to I Got You Babe every day in Groundhog Day? If that song would have been Made Of Moods, he at the very least experienced three and a half perfect minutes each day. It’s one of those songs that I enjoy each and every second of, with it’s jangly guitars and hushed vocals that almost have a Beach Boys vibe, especially in the verse. Truly, it’s a song for the ages.
